Tuesday 19th September - Trip to Truro
On Tuesday, Cardinham class visited Truro Cathedral and Truro Museum. We learned all about the Church's year, the clothes that are worn by the clergy and the history of the Cathedral. When we were dressed in the appropriate robes, we were allowed to process down the Nave, to the accompaniment of the organ, played by Christopher Gray, the Cathedral organist. It was so loud! We also learned about Holy Communion and Baptism, through acting out the rituals.
At the museum, we found out what it was like to be evacuated. We had to write a postcard home with a proper ink pen. After that, we learned about rationing - we were surprised how little people had to eat!
Some of us had a chance to dress up as air-raid and fire wardens. Please look at the photographs on our class pages!
