RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Being a Church of England School our basic aim is to give our children good background knowledge and an understanding of the Christian faith. Links with Morval Parish are maintained and the school regularly celebrates Christian festivals with services held at St Wenna’s Church.

The school is committed to the use of the County’s agreed Syllabus for R.E. to create a programme linking religious topics and themes across other areas of the curriculum. The children are encouraged to develop positive attitudes and related skills of expression and exploration through a multi-faith approach.

Daily Christian collective worship and regular assemblies are held, incorporating elements of Anglican Liturgy. Local clergy and representatives from the Methodist Circuit attend periodically. Parents may request permission for their child’s non-attendance of collective worship by contacting the Head teacher.
