Teaching Staff

Mrs Sarah Hawker

Mrs Hawker has just been appointed as Acting Headteacher at Trenode. She has been teaching for seventeen years, all of them in a small, rural primary school. Enabling pupils to make good progress with their learning is her constant focus.  She is passionate about making sure children have a wide variety of opportunities to help them to develop their skills and talents.

Previous to becoming a teacher, she worked in Stage Management for English National Opera and Opera North. She has also worked at the Royal Albert Hall.

Mrs Michaela Gordon

Mrs Gordon has been part of the Trenode family since April 2004.

She is primarily based in Class 1 with the younger pupils, although as Assistant Headteacher she has occasionally been found teaching  in the other classrooms too. Mrs Gordon has particular responsibility for English, ICT, RE, Music, Art, Singing and Assessment across the school. In her time,  Mrs Gordon has run a number of after school clubs, at present she is running the second Harry Potter Correspondence Course on a Tuesday after school. Mrs Gordon also directs and produces the whole school productions that take place at Christmas and in the summer.

Mrs Gordon always says she would have loved to have been a Blue Peter presenter, however the thought of having to abseil really put her off.

Mrs Sue David

Mrs David joined the Trenode family in September 2004. She moved to Cornwall from the Midlands and has not looked back!

Mrs David is part of the SLT (Senior Leadership Team) and teaches in Class 3, which is made up of either Year 5/6 or Year 4/5/6, depending on the cohorts.

Mrs David is responsible for Maths and is also the SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator). She has a National Accreditation in Special Educational Needs and has also completed a PG Dip in Special Educational Needs.  Mrs David has also undertaken the ‘Thrive’ training and is a certified Thrive Practitioner.

Mrs David has two children of her own, Cerys, who also attends Trenode and Lowri, who visits Trenode on a Tuesday for ‘Treasures’. Mrs David feels very much a part of the Trenode family and is proud to work with such an enthusiastic and dedicated team.
